FROST GIANT (Giant’s Causeway--Takesmybreathaway, by Gone West), winner of the
2008 GI Suburban S.,will stand at Empire Stud in Hudson, NY, the farm and IEAH announced Friday.
“Frost Giant is an obvious horse for the new New York,” said Jamie LaMonica, president of Empire Stud. “He owns a sire’s pedigree. We and our partners, IEAH, are very excited about the prospects.”
A $600,000 KEESEP yearling, Frost Giant won the G3 Killavullan S. as a juvenile in his second start and captured the G3 Kilternan S. at three, with both starts coming at Leopardstown in Ireland. Subsequently purchased by IEAH, the chestnut was brought to the United States, where he won on dirt and turf. Frost Giant, retired with a record of 15-4-2-2 with $454,277 in earnings.
